Carrier oils are vegetable oils extracted from the fatty parts of fruits and vegetables like seeds, nuts or kernels. They are extracted through the cold pressed method. Usually, heat may affect the chemical constituents of these oils. For the aromatherapy we prefer to use only the cold pressed oil, because they are very rich in vitamins and essential fatty acids. Carrier oils carry the properties of essential oils into the skin. Essential oils mix well with fat, not with water. Carrier oils are rich in fat so they are great base oils.
